Head of Data

Location: New York, NY

Target Salary : $175,000 - $230,000

Our client is a leading financial services organization specializing in insurance and wealth management. They are committed to driving innovation and excellence in their operations. Their Enterprise Strategy team is at the forefront of transforming data into actionable insights, ensuring our finance functions are optimized for success.

Position Overview: They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Data to join their team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between corporate functions and finance, and the ideal candidate will have experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and other financial operations modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal or HR but is looking to transition into finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and communicate with the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and the Executive Leadership to leverage data for strategic finance initiatives.
• Have the ability to provide solutions and influence decision-making for the data organization
• Make process optimization recommendations to enhance finance operations.
• Educate the finance team on data capabilities and limitations, fostering a strategic mindset.
• Develop and execute a roadmap for data utilization within the finance function.
• Prioritize finance needs, working closely with the CFO organization.

Qualifications:

• Strong background coming from a management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc.) firm is preferred or from the insurance industry.
• Heavy data experience is essential; candidates without this will not be considered.
• Ability to deliver actionable insights and execute strategic plans.
• Experience working at blue-chip organizations is preferred.
• They are NOT looking for AI or tech-focused candidates; emphasis for this role is on data optimization.
